Sunday School Lesson:  Wise Or Foolish

Opening Questions: What do you think it means to be wise? What do you think it means to be foolish?

Bible Scripture: Proverbs 23 & 19

"Hear thou, my son, and be WISE, and guide thine heart in the way."

Bible Stories:   a) King Solomon Prays For Wisdom (from I Kings - Chapter 3 / verses 3-28)

b) The Parable of the Wise Man and The Foolish Man (from Matthew 7 & 24-27)

Discussion:   When someone is WISE, they choose to do good. They do what is right and stay away from wrong. When someone is FOOLISH, they do the opposite. Instead of choosing to do good, they choose to do bad things. And they do things that are wrong instead of things that are right. Jesus, our Savior in Heaven, wants us to choose to be wise! He wants us to always do those things that are right!

Songs To Sing:  Oh Be Careful Little Eyes / The Wise Man Built His House Upon The Rock

Activity: What does being wise means to you? In your Sunday School Journal, or on a regular sheet of paper, write sentences that tell what being wise means to you. Share your writings with someone. You may also bring your writing piece to Sunday School to share with our class and receive a Sunday School sticker!
